Magical Marketing

March 9, 2010

It is very common for businesses to want the one “secret” thing that will catapult their website or the one thing that will make visitors want to stay on their website longer. Well, there is no such thing as a magic trick that if performed will make users want to fall in love with your website from the start. In web usability there are several factors that go into making a website more user-friendly and engaging.  For example if you have a perfect looking actress as a video spokesperson and your website has no real content behind the actress then you are defeating the purpose of keeping people on your website. However on the flipside if you have great content yet you do not portray it in an eye-catching manner than you again are defeating the purpose.

We’ve all visited websites that are complicated and as we go through them we are left thinking…” Did someone purposely try and make this more difficult than it should be?” The key to making a website usable is exactly what it sounds like; can someone actually navigate your website without needing a translator or a secret decoder ring? When it comes to web usability there is no magic wand to wave over your site. It comes down to hard work and common sense. This is why having a live video spokesperson from Live Actor is so vital to a website. There are so often times when it is easier to say something than to write it down. Don’t just speak with plain text, speak with emotion!
